BraeBurn Country Club in Houston, Texas just celebrated its 90th year of operation with a full course renovation by architect Tripp Davis. The grass they selected was NorthBridge Bermudagrass. NorthBridge has some of the best cold tolerance for a bermuda variety and provides longer seasons of green. Its texture and playability are unmatched in the industry. In its heyday, BraeBurn was the host of numerous professional and amateur events and the new design will “maintain the historic landscape while creating a unique Houston golf course.”

“We were looking for a grass that would stand up to our rigorous 40,000 to 42,000 rounds a year and also stand up to the temperatures of 50 to 55 degrees without going completely dormant.”

–  Terry Gill, Golf Course Superintendent

“In the wintertime, our 419 would go dormant previously and we were looking for something to come out of the spring but also hold its color during those winter months… Wear tolerance, traffic control, a lot of the fairways bottleneck so during the winter and coming out in springtime, our 419 would get really beat up so I think NorthBridge is going to help us a lot with that.”

–  Aaron Engelhard, Golf Course Superintendent
