Cobalt™ Hybrid St. Augustine is being released into Florida through a joint release by the Turf Producers of Florida and Sod Solutions. Developed by Texas A&M University, Cobalt will redefine what it means to be a drought-tolerant St. Augustinegrass. With a strong built-in drought response, this grass also features resistance to disease pressure, displays outstanding visual quality and exhibits improved winter hardiness.
During the Cobalt Field Day you will hear from its breeder, Dr. Ambika Chandra and meet with two sod producers who have grown Cobalt in Florida. Both fields were sprigged in October of 2021 while one is on sand and another on muck.
Prospective sod producers that are interested in learning more about Cobalt Hybrid St. Augustine should attend the Cobalt Field Day on October 6, 2022, the day after the Citra Field Day.
